Select theme and base color: It is most important to choose the right theme but often couple have hard time in finalizing the color and theme which will set the hue and tone for rest of the decor. Choosing the right base color and theme is the most important decision and couple should spend loads of time on this. Bedroom is the only area in the home that is considered private by women and men alike. Pink (no points for guessing) is the most preferred color for women and want to paint and decorate everything in this color only. Running second is the purple color which is preferred by women worldwide. Men prefer black, brown or green color shades to base their bedroom decor with. We suggest that the couple should somehow choose color that is of interest to both. Decorating the bedroom with a single color is advisable when it is adored by both. There are many options of various color combinations available in the market. A list a few are: blue and purple, red and orange, cream and brown, pink and peach, green and yellow, grey and brown, beige and white, and red and orange. Each color has its own characteristic and a hidden message that speaks a lot about the person.

Fine art and paintings add extra vibes to the bedroom decor: In our view, selecting the right color scheme for the bedroom walls is just a beginning of moving towards complete bedroom decor. However, the bedroom walls will look complete only when it is accentuated with beautiful paintings. Buy Paintings with a brown color theme look good on a green colored wall and look appealing with a wooden sofa with cream color upholstery. Orange color painting looks good on a red color wall and pink color painting mixes well with a peach color wall. Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations with ArtsNyou.com

Ganesha Chaturthi is celebrated on the occasion of birthday (rebirth) of Lord Ganesha.Lord Ganesha is son of Shiva and Parvati. This festival is celebrated on chaturthi of the Bhadrapada month (mid-August to mid-September). This year this chaturthi is of 9th September, therefore Gahesh Chaturthi is on 9th September. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated across India, however, in Maharashtra, TamilNadu, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, it is considered as most pious time and celebrated with utmost devotion.

It is believed that Lord Ganesh bequeaths his existence on earth for all having faith in him. It is the day when Shiva declared his son Ganesha as superior to all the gods (barring lord Vishnu, Lakshmi, Shiva and Parvati). Lord Ganesha is widely worshipped as the God of good fortune, wisdom, prosperity. Before starting any new project or activity Lord Ganesha is worshipped to seek his blessing for success of the project.

As per the folktale, Ganesha’s birth is an eventful epic which is quite interesting to know and learn.

Indian scriptures and people believe that Lord Ganesha was created by Goddess Parvati. Parvati created Ganesha out of sandalwood paste that she used for her bath and put life into the figure. She instructed him to stand at the door while she was taking bath. When Lord Shiva came, Ganesha didn’t know him, so he didn’t allowed him to enter. Lord Shiva got angry and thought to teach the child some manners. Ganesha was very powerful, being created by Parvati, the embodiment of power. He defeated all the ghost-followers of Lord shiva and declared that nobody was allowed to enter while his mother was bathing. The sage of paradises along with the Saptarshi sensed a growing havoc and went to appease the boy. Angered, the king of Gods, Indra attacked the boy with his entire army but they couldn’t do anything. This whole matter was a matter of pride for Parvati and Shiva.

……………..

After the Devtas were defeated, the trinity, the controller, preserver and destroyer of the universe launched an attack against Ganesha. Amidst the fighting, Shiva severed the head of the child and brought on Parvati’s rage. Seeing her son dead, Parvati revealed her true self, as the Adi-shakti, the prime energy that fuels the universe and sustains matter. Taking on a terrible form, she vowed to destroy the universe where her son was killed and re-create a better one. The Gods prostrated before her and Shiva promised that her son will live again. The trinity hunted the world for a head and came across a mother elephant crying for her dead baby. They consoled the mother and fixed the head of the baby elephant in place of Ganesha’s head. Lord Shiva also declared that from this day, the boy would be called as “Ganesha” (Gana-Isha : lord of the Ganas). In this way, Lord Ganesha came to be depicted as the elephant-headed God.

In India, it’s celebrated by artistic clay models of Lord Ganesha made by especially skilled artisans. These idols are beautifully decorated and depict Lord Ganesh in vivid poses. The size of these statues may vary from 3/4 of an inch to over 70 feet. Some people worship the Silver or Gold statue of Ganesha on the same day. ArtsNyou: Guide to Select and Buy Paintings

ArtsNyou: Guide to Select and Buy Paintings

Rich looks of your home depends on you, and for that you have to buy paintings and works of art. But caution must be exercised in selecting fabulous paintings and this guide will help you understand what color combination will work for your place and will tell you some key indicator to differentiate the real paintings from the replica (fake) of it.

Buying Art and Paintings

ArtsNyou brings lots of paintings right in front of you through the online website (www.artsnyou.com) so that you will not have to roam around your town to shop for the paintings. Examine the item that you want to buy closely and carefully as your entire décor will somehow need to be linked back to the masterpiece in the center. Once you buy, it would be hard to change your mind and switch to a different item!

Color combinations

Colors that are used in paintings play an important part in bringing certain benefits to human lives. Using the right colors brings prosperity and positivity in human spirits. Green color increases concentration, brings good health and speedy recovery for ailing patients. Yellow color increases appetite of grown-up humans and infants. Paintings of natural scenes (landscape paintings) bring peace to human mind and soul. Paintings showing sisters, brothers, mother-son and other related artworks spread humanity, love, care and warmth. These paintings bring mental peace and enhance emotional well-being. On the other hand, paintings showing violence should be avoided as it is likely to bring negative emotions in the human mind. Painting either taken up as a profession or hobby can have a positive impact on the human mind, body and spirit. The painter considers the canvas as his/her own world where they try to impose their feelings, anger and thoughts with the help of brush strokes. Painting improves concentration and focus which are considered essential to achieve success in any field that we choose.

Know what’s Real and what’s Fake

There are many sites which sell fake artworks that are cheap imitations of the real thing. We don’t say that one should not buy the replica or art print of the original paintings as they look equally well on the walls if they go with the overall theme. However, this guide will help you understand the differences so that you did not end up paying huge money for a replica and feel cheated and fooled.

How do you tell the difference? Each replica painting or artwork is based on a real work of art from the real world. Such fakes always have a visible difference from the real thing. Christmas celebration – The season of happiness and new hope

Christmas is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ and is one of the main festivals in the Christian community. It is also commonly known as Xmas and Bada Din (the day from days starts getting longer). Christmas is also associated with exchange of gifts which is a traditional practice to celebrate it. Decorating houses with lights and fancy ornaments is also very common during the Christmas season.

The festival is celebrated with full faith, enthusiasm and trust on the existence of almighty Jesus. The colors that are used for Christmas decoration have a flavor of history associated with it. As per the tradition, the commonly used colors of Christmas decoration are gold, green, and red. The golden color is the first color associated with Christmas, as one of the three gifts of the Magi, symbolizing royalty. The red color symbolizes the blood of Jesus, which was shed in his crucifixion. The green color symbolizes eternal life and nature, in particular the evergreen tree which does not lose its leaves in the winter.

During this holy period, people think of innovative ideas of decorating their houses and workplaces. Of late, many art pieces are used as a medium of expressing thoughts. These artworks are used for exchanging gifts with the near and dear ones and are considered as a token of blessing for the well being to the recipient. Not only for exchanging gifts but people buy paintings to use them as home décor for their living place or working spaces. With the widely available range of paintings available in the market, it is easier for the customers to finalize the painting of their choice.

Another prevalent tradition is to sing Christmas carols and offer service in the holy churches. Lighting candles in churches and homes is a tradition that is considered to bring in new hope and happiness in life. No celebration is complete without the taste of good food and Christmas is no different. Christmas brings in lots of options of mouth-licking chocolates, cakes, pastries and other food items to relish.

To sum up, decoration, corals, churches, food, and exchange of gifts make up Christmas celebration. Paintings featuring Jesus Christ are very common and in great demand in the holy season of Christmas. In addition to Jesus Christ paintings, landscape paintings, abstract paintings and religious paintings are in equal demand.

Home Decor: Modern trends and painting style for Living Room

Decoration of a living room or workspace speaks a lot of the person’s character and taste. Traditionally, decorating living spaces have been prevalent, but of late, working population is increasingly focusing to have a space of their own on the workstation as well. It is a space where one feels like coming to work every day and take right decisions. A well decorated home is the one which has separate themes for separate sections of the house. The tone is set at the entrance of the house which is the most important section and needs to be decorated in a way that perks up the mood. People normally change their style of home decor according to the season and to suit the climate. Home decor style changes with the winter and summer season. During the winter season, people prefer having dark shades in their home decor theme. Whereas lighter shades suit the summer season which is more humid and hot. In the Northern part of India, which experiences both summer and winter season, people feel the need to change their home décor theme more than the Southern part of India.

We suggest brightly lit interiors for the summer season, especially using yellow, orange and gold decor. Vibrant colors bring liveliness to the room and lift up the spirit. If the sofa is wooden, we suggest a basic cream color of the upholstery, which matches any color combination. Orange color curtains will certainly mix well with the sofa. A white chandelier and framed pictures on the white wall will certainly add glamour to the home décor scheme for the living room. Instead of having one large painting (which sometimes remains the center of attraction and often overshadows the other articles), the wall can be decorated with many small paintings. Other accessories that can add sheer attraction is a yellow pot with a plant, a bright color lamp shade, and a book shelf.

Now for the winter season, dark shades are preferred to bring warmth inside the living section of the house. We suggest dark brown upholstery for the shiny wooden sofa and a green and white color combination for the curtains. Contrasting colors for the wall will suite the décor theme, especially painted in cream, lemon or white colors. Accordingly, buy paintings with dark color background and with wooden frames. Using paintings as a wall décor is the most trusted choice to match with the other accessories in the room. Abstract paintings, landscape paintings, Indian paintings and figurative paintings are always a perfect choice for the wall decoration. However, the ultimate choice will depend on the buyers’ character, overall mood he wants to portray and the message that he wants to convey to guests.

The bottom line is that it is a wonderful idea to have a selected theme for the living room and spare some time thinking and building over it. To buy paintings, we suggest you to visit ArtsNyou, an online destination for art prints and original paintings. They have a large collection of paintings ranging from contemporary abstract style to traditional Indian paintings. They also have a wonderful collection of paintings by world renowned artists.

Coloring technique for painting marvelous sunset landscapes

In this article, we will cover the technique of mixing color while making a landscape painting, particularly while paintings sunset. Before starting to paint, the painter should always imagine the details of a sunset, such as the different colors that sunset offers. The painter should try to make the painting as realistic as possible. Now, when we think of a sunset, three main colors come to the mind – blue, purplish blue, and orange. The section of the cloud that will be far from the horizon will be blue, purplish blue and will be the sandwiched section between the blue cloud and the horizon, and the horizon will be in orange color. Each of the mentioned colors should be toned down or up with the help of other colors and should be mixed as per the requirement.

Let us start preparing the palatte:

Blue: We take blue and white colors on the palette (a flat board which is used to arrange and mix different paints) and mix them on the palette itself in an effort to get the resulting blue color for the cloud. We should understand and determine whether the mixed color should be closer to white or blue and accordingly, the quantity of both blue and white should be decided. Here, we want the mixed color to be closer to white tone and therefore we will mix a small amount of blue color. Keep on adding blue and white to eventually get the desired result. To tone down the resulting color, we can also mix a small amount of ‘Burnt Umber’ color to the already mixed blue and white color. ‘Burnt Umber’ looks dark but its base color is orange, which in turn is blue’s complimentary color. Thus, ‘Burnt Umber’ can be used with great effect to eventually tone down the blue shade of the color.

Purplish blue for a darker section of the cloud: To make the purplish color for the darker section of the cloud during sunset, we will add red as the fourth color to the palette. First, we will start with the white colorandadd the blue and red colors to it on the palette. Keep on mixing and adding more of these colors to the mixture till you get the resultant purplish color. Remember, when you are getting close to get the resultant required color, always keep the previous color mix safe with you. The experiment should be carried out on a portion of it, while keeping aside the previous version of the mixed color.

Orange effect for the horizon:We will mix white, red and yellow colors together to get the resultant orange color for the horizon. To start with, mix the white and yellow colors together again and decide whether you want the resultant color to be closer to dark orange or the lighter shade to it. We recommend giving it a warmer feeling as it depicts the horizon which still holds a lot of heat from the sun. Now, add the red color to the resulting mixed color to turn it to orange.

Hope you have enjoyed learning the painting technique, try it and start experimenting more with colors to gradually become an expert artist.

Home Decor Paintings – Buy with Ultimate Accessories

Home is a place where one seeks solidarity and recharge to fight against odds. Hence, decorating it requires a lot of personal attention and taste. More often, the taste is acquired from others and people try to replicate and make it as their own. In this article, we focus on how accessories can add glamour and complete the home decor. Decorative accessories and certain ornaments give your home an artistic feel to the complete home furnishing. Here are few of the accessories that can be contemplated to bring your home alive.

Accessories of different kind: There are many accessories available in the market but only a careful selection can make them look beautiful. They enhance the beauty of the home without which the home décor would look incomplete. Accessories, too, speak a lot about one’s character and personal interest. But, remember, while deciding on the accessories for the decoration, one should avoid making the home like an island of misfit toys. All the accessories should mix well with the other home furnishing items. The color combination should always be taken care of while deciding on the ultimate theme of the home décor. Accessories such as designer bookshelves, curtain strings, vases, and chandeliers add value and beauty to the overall home décor.

Material used in accessories: Many accessories that are available in the market are made of brass, wooden and metal. We suggest that people should have a mix of all. Avoid buying accessories made of one material and rather have a good mix of all. Bronze candle stands, golden chandeliers, wooden bookshelf are good combination to add an aesthetic sense to the home. These accessories when placed carefully and precisely add charm to the overall home décor. In addition, pebbles of different colors when filled in a glass bowl add an extra vibe to the home décor.

Traditional look is back: Nowadays, people prefer having an Indian traditional look for the home décor. A well knitted cot is very well in the fashion and gives a great contemporary Indian traditional fell. Traditional chandelier and glass lamps shades are now preferred over fancy ones. Greenery is back in the home décor and people are now keeping a bonsai plant inside the home.

Paintings add extra vibes to the bedroom decor: In our view, selecting the right color scheme for the walls is just a part of the complete home decor. The walls look complete only when it is accentuated with beautiful paintings. Paintings with a brown color theme look good on a green colored wall and look appealing with a wooden sofa with cream color upholstery. Orange color painting looks good on a red color wall and pink color painting mixes well with a peach color wall. A black and white combination painting is a show stopper and matches literally with all wall colors.
